Safety & compliance

The standard we hold, in plain terms.

Most of what makes a late trip safe is decided long before the vehicle arrives — in who is driving it, whether it should be on the road, and whether anyone would notice if you did not get home.

Drivers

Who is allowed to carry you.

Licence and PrDP verified

Every driver holds a current licence and a valid Professional Driving Permit. Both are checked at onboarding and re-checked at renewal — not taken on trust.

Background checked

Criminal record check and right-to-work confirmation before a driver is assigned a single passenger.

Named on every trip

The plan records which driver and which vehicle ran your route. If something goes wrong, we know exactly who to ask — and so do you.

Vehicles

What is allowed to leave the depot.

  • Roadworthy certification current and on file for every vehicle on a route.
  • Passenger liability cover in force — checked before a vehicle is added, not after an incident.
  • Seat count is enforced by the planner. A vehicle is never assigned more passengers than it has belted seats, because the solver cannot exceed its capacity.
  • Inspections on a schedule covering tyres, belts, doors, lights and brakes.

On the road

Someone notices if you are not dropped.

The single biggest safety failure in staff transport is nobody realising a passenger never got home. Our drop lists exist to make that impossible to miss.

  • Each drop is marked as it happens, so an unticked stop is visible while the vehicle is still out.
  • Addresses are snapshotted onto the stop, so a sheet already on the road cannot silently change under the driver.
  • Nobody is silently dropped from a plan. A passenger who cannot be routed is raised as a named exception with a stated reason.
  • The fleet clock refuses impossible slots, so a driver is never quietly set up to run late.

Your data

POPIA, handled properly.

Staff transport runs on home addresses and travel patterns — some of the most sensitive data an employer holds. We treat it that way.

  • Collected for one purpose — planning and running your transport — and used for nothing else.
  • Never sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
  • Drivers see only their own run — the stops on their sheet, for that night.
  • You can ask for your record or its deletion at any time, by emailing hello@transportplus.co.za.

Being straight with you

What we do not claim.

Plenty of transport companies advertise capability they do not have. Here is where we are, honestly.

Live GPS tracking is not live yet

Trips are tracked by drop confirmation on the run sheet, not by a GPS pin moving on a map. That is enough to know a run is progressing and to spot a missed stop, but it is not real-time vehicle telemetry — and we are not going to describe it as though it were. It is on our roadmap.

Travel times are modelled, not measured

Route timings come from a distance model rather than live traffic data. It is deliberately conservative, and it is why the fleet clock refuses marginal slots. One pilot of real drop times replaces the model for your routes.
