How much does a TransportPlus commuter package cost?

R1 500 a month for one direction — home to work, or work to home. R2 500 a month for both directions, home to work to home. Both are flat monthly fees covering every working day, with no per-trip charge and no surge pricing.

Is a monthly transport package cheaper than a minibus taxi?

Usually not on price alone. Two minibus taxi trips a day at about R25 each works out near R1 080 a month, below the R1 500 Standard package. The package costs more because it includes a reserved seat, a vetted driver, a tracked trip and a door-to-door drop. Against e-hailing services it is substantially cheaper.

Are there extra charges on top of the monthly fee?

No. The monthly package fee covers every working-day trip in the direction you have bought. There is no booking fee, no per-trip charge and no surge pricing.
